Summary
Highlights
The project emphasizes working with micro or small enterprises (MEI is not recommended). Students will form trios and conduct interviews using a standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire has an objective section for collecting quantifiable data related to accounting and a discursive section requiring group discussion and analysis. The project aims to provide practical experience and apply academic knowledge to real-world business challenges. Only one member of each trio should submit the completed form.
Trios must select an enterprise where they can apply their university knowledge, add value, and understand the company's challenges. The project aligns with an extension program focused on bridging academic knowledge with societal needs. The chosen company should be a micro or small enterprise located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. While service-based companies are acceptable, students may need to adapt certain questionnaire responses.
A standardized Google Forms questionnaire will be provided. It is crucial to ensure accurate student information (full name, registration, and polo) for proper project evaluation. The questionnaire includes objective data requests like CNPJ details, company name, address, and activity description, all of which are standard accounting information. Students must inform the companies that collected data is for academic purposes only and will remain confidential.
The latter part of the questionnaire focuses on a diagnostic section, where students identify challenges, problems, or 'pains' experienced by the entrepreneur. Based on both objective and interview data, students are expected to provide an evaluation and offer actionable recommendations to the company concerning financial, management, or accounting improvements. This involves suggesting ways to optimize products, address workforce issues, or explore expansion opportunities.
Students are encouraged to adopt a professional, consultant-like approach, understanding the entrepreneur's perspective and providing well-thought-out suggestions. They should document their interactions, presentations, and the implementation status of their recommendations. The project is an opportunity for significant professional development. The deadline for submitting the completed report is tentatively the first half of June. Teams must be trios, not duos or quartets.
Students are advised to regularly check the extension blog for updates, cronograms, and additional information regarding the project. The team is available to answer questions and provide support throughout the process. Collaboration among students via chat or other communication channels is encouraged for forming trios.
