Shorty exports subtitles as SRT and VTT files, and can also burn captions directly into the video so they play everywhere without a separate file.
How many subtitle jobs does the free tier include?
A free Shorty account includes 3 subtitle jobs per month, on videos up to 10 minutes and 200 MB. Shorty Premium raises the ceiling to 120 minutes and 2048 MB and adds burned-in subtitles.
Are the subtitle timings accurate?
Yes. Shorty generates subtitles from a timestamped transcription of the audio itself, so each caption carries the start and end time of the words it contains rather than an even split across the runtime.
Is Shorty free to use?
Yes. Shorty is free to use and does not require an account for the summarizer tools — paste or upload something and read the result. A free Shorty account keeps your history in a searchable library, and paid Premium and Pro plans raise the size and volume limits.
Does a failed job still use up my quota?
No. A Shorty job that ends in an error or is cancelled never counts against a quota — the usage is refunded automatically, so a failure costs nothing.
Which languages can Shorty subtitle?
Shorty subtitles speech in 113 languages. Leave the language on auto-detect and Shorty's speech-to-text model identifies the spoken language itself, or pick it from the menu if you already know it.
