Summary
Spiritual Outreach and Fellowship Activities
Highlights
Multiple individuals were invited to Mass, including Sr Michelle, Br F (for Latin Mass), Emily, and other interns. Br Amressh was encouraged to consider RCIA, and discussions about the papacy and Protestantism occurred. Days of obligation and the meaning of a Solemnity were explained to friends and choir members. The importance of Adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament was communicated when others couldn't attend Mass.
A significant portion of the activities involved Sr Maegan, including bringing her to Mass, Adoration, and Confession. There were numerous catch-ups, conversations about relationships (including a long one over beer), the infinitesimal love of God, and discussions about Solemnities. Efforts were made to console her (e.g., singing Salve Regina during a city church visit) and provide support during her heartbreak, including starting the Immaculate Conception Novena and teaching about the Eucharist.
Ongoing outreach and support were provided to Sr Maegan and Sr Michelle, who were both experiencing heartbreak. This included sharing relevant readings, discussions about the 33-Day Marian Consecration, and attempts to invite them to Adoration and Mass. The Miraculous Medal was explained to them, and Epiphany water was given and explained. Conversations about true beauty continued with Sr Maegan, Sr Belle, Sr Stacy, and Sr Michelle.
Various spiritual topics were discussed with different individuals. These included St John of the Cross with Sr Janelle, the religious and historical significance of Portuguese and Spanish Cathedrals with a friend, and the writings of saints with Sr Joseph. The Eucharist was discussed with a human anatomy lecturer, and Angelus, love, truth, and existence were discussed with Br Ryan and Sr Maegan. The Christian background of art was explained to Sr Keira, and Holy Week and the Eucharist were explained using Singlish.
Numerous prayers were offered, including praying for Br Amressh and for a friend's mother who passed away. Rosaries were said for Sr C's client Emily and for Sr Emily. The 33-Day Marian Consecration was started, continued, and completed, with leadership roles taken in community prayers and soliciting blessings from Cardinal William. Catena was chanted with Sr Maegan, Sr Karen, and Br Gerard. The Rosary was discussed as a teaching activity for Emily with Sr C.
Interns were invited to various Masses, including Ash Wednesday and Easter Vigil. Friends were signed up for a Franciscan Tradition. Efforts were made to mediate situations. A professor, Prof Colin Tan, was met and discussions about Liturgy and the Divine Office took place. The Church was explained to an uncle, and a taxi driver, Br Peter, was invited to Mass. Contact was made with a Praesidium in Taiwan to give a report.
