Highlights
A bird and a whale fall deeply in love, admiring each other's unique qualities and sharing a common love for eating tiny fish. They spent an entire summer talking about various things, with the bird telling jokes and the whale singing beautiful songs.
As summer turns to winter, the ocean gets cold, and the whale suggests the bird join her in warmer waters. The bird agrees but asks the whale to teach him how to be a whale. He tries to swim deep but cannot breathe, realizing a bird cannot become a whale.
The bird then invites the whale to live with him on the warm cliffs and offers to teach her to fly. The whale tries to fly but remains in the water, understanding that a whale cannot become a bird. They acknowledge their fundamental differences in living environments.
Recognizing that neither could truly be happy in the other's world, they sadly say goodbye. Despite parting ways, they never forget each other, always thinking of their beloved whenever they see another bird flying high or a whale diving deep, hoping they are enjoying their respective homes.
