Highlights
Little Nick visits the zoo with his parents and sees a koala. He wants to take it home, but his mom refuses. Nick becomes very angry, stomping and shouting, which makes his heart race and his eyes fill with tears.
A curious monkey asks Nick why he is angry. Nick explains he can't have the koala. The monkey advises him to control his anger, suggesting he take a deep breath and slowly blow, and then count to ten. Nick tries the techniques but is still a little upset.
A kangaroo suggests that exercise helps with anger. It recommends jumping, sit-ups, or squats to get rid of angry feelings. Nick starts exercising and feels his anger fading.
Nick encounters an angry parrot whose sister is sleeping in its bed. The parrot shares its coping strategy: counting leaves on a tree. It also advises talking to someone, writing an apology letter, and reflecting on one's actions before reacting with anger.
Nick takes the parrot's advice, realizing the koala should be left alone and his mother was right. He uses the deep breathing and counting techniques again. No longer angry, he apologizes to his mom, who is proud of his calm behavior and explains the importance of expressing anger safely.
