Start by visiting www.odoo.com, select your preferred language, and click 'Start Now - It's free'. Choose the apps you need, keeping in mind that you can add more later. Ignore the 15-day trial mentioned during this step, as the educational database is different.

Complete your personal data, ensuring you use a correct email for activation. The most critical step is entering 'edu-' followed by your chosen company name in the 'Company Name' field, as this prefix makes the database educational and free. Without it, you'll get a 15-day trial version. Also, fill in your phone number, country, language, company size (number of students for fictitious companies), and select 'Teacher' as your role to avoid being contacted by sales.

An Odoo educational database is a free service for teachers and students, providing full access to Odoo Online features, similar to paid customer accounts. The key difference is a two-year validity period, after which a new database must be created.

After completing all fields, click 'Start now'. Your database will be created, and you will receive an email from Odoo to activate it. Remember to activate it promptly to ensure it remains active.
