Highlights
Samson, once the strongest man, is brought before the Philistines by his own people. The Philistine general dismisses Samson's divine strength, attributing it to mere folklore, and boasting of his gods and dominance over the Israelites.
The Philistines bribe Delilah to discover the source of Samson's strength. They believe his weakness lies in his pursuit of women, particularly Philistine women, which has led him astray multiple times.
Under Delilah's persistent questioning and emotional manipulation, Samson eventually reveals that his strength lies in his hair. He desperately wants to sleep and hopes that revealing the truth will end her nagging.
While Samson sleeps, Delilah cuts his hair. He awakens to find his strength gone, distraught and betrayed. He confronts Delilah, who shows little remorse.
A humiliated and blind Samson is paraded before the Philistines. The general mocks him and the Israelite judges, calling them self-serving warlords. Samson, in his final moments, prays to God for his strength to be returned one last time so he can avenge himself and die with the Philistines. The general questions if this act truly constitutes 'judging'.
