Jason meets Lu Yan, a drunken immortal, and Golden Sparrow, an orphan seeking vengeance against the Jade Warlord. They agree to help Jason journey to Five Elements Mountain, immediately facing threats from the Warlord's forces.

Lu Yan and a silent monk begin training Jason in kung fu, teaching him physical techniques and philosophical concepts. Golden Sparrow shares her tragic past and her desire to kill the Warlord.
