Summary
Highlights
The application process starts by checking the 'I study' portal for the course syllabus and submission portals. You need to fill out the work education application form, providing your name, student ID, preferred workstation (e.g., clinic), and work supervisor's name. You also need to indicate your available working hours, ensuring to only mark days you have free time. If a workstation denies your application, you must find another without faculty intervention.
Once your workstation is approved, the application form must be signed by 'Mami'. You can only start working and logging hours in your Daily Time Record (DTR) after this approval. Submitting DTRs for work done before approval, or before being officially enrolled in the course, is not allowed and will be considered 'frozen credit.' All submissions, including the approved application, must be uploaded through the 'I study' portal, not as hard copies.
Every time you work, you must log your hours, tasks, and get your supervisor's signature on the work education attendance sheet. The total hours must be computed and signed by both you and your supervisor. You will also be evaluated by your work supervisor. You have the option for one or two evaluations; choosing two allows for improvement if the first evaluation is unsatisfactory, and the higher score will be considered. Photos of your work experience for a vlog are also required.
DTRs must be submitted monthly. Failing to submit within the month means that month's work will not be accepted. Late submission of overall requirements, after the final exam day, incurs a penalty of 30 minutes of extra work in the College of Education for every day late. This penalty is imposed to avoid disrupting faculty time processing belated submissions.
To be eligible for Latin honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude), your work education grade must be 'very satisfactory' or 'excellent.' You can choose any workstation, but there is a cap to ensure efficiency across departments. Work scholars are not exempted from work education; their work as scholars is credited. Minimum work per duty is 2 hours, and proper working attire is required.
To ensure understanding of the orientation, a quiz will be administered. You must pass this quiz to receive the link for the work education application form. Without completing the quiz, you cannot access the application form and therefore cannot proceed with work immersion. A group chat link for important updates will also be provided, and formal communication is expected when messaging coordinators.
