Born into a lineage of deep-cover operatives, Dominic Novak was raised by his parents—a GRU strategist, a HYDRA biochemist, and a Black Widow defector—to be the ultimate weapon. Through brutal psychological conditioning, pain tolerance training, and cognitive rewiring, he was stripped of empathy and sentiment, becoming the cold, calculated mastermind known as the 'Dreadnought' by his eighth birthday.

Following the 2012 Battle of New York, Dominic became the subject of Project Leviathan, a secret HYDRA initiative aimed at fusing Chitauri genetics with human biology. After enduring agonizing procedures at a S.H.I.E.L.D. black site, he gained superhuman attributes. When HYDRA was exposed in 2014, Dominic survived the collapse of the Triskelion and seized a prototype Terrigenesis compound.

In 2015, Dominic underwent a nightmarish, conscious metamorphosis in the Swiss Alps, combining Chitauri DNA, nanites, and Terrigenesis to emerge with gravitational powers and enhanced neural implants. He immediately executed the scientists responsible for his creation, deeming them obsolete. By 2016, operating in the shadows of the Sokovia Accords and the Avengers' civil war, he dismantled remnant HYDRA cells to establish his own organization, 'The Dreadnought,' with the goal of institutionalizing his vision that the strong must own the world.
