As Jagat Seth is about to hand over his money, Bhushan arrives. The greedy landlord, eager to get Jagat Seth's large sum, quickly returns Bhushan's 5,800 rupees, apologizing for his previous behavior. Immediately after, Jagat Seth's servant arrives with news that the traders are coming to their village, making Jagat Seth's trip unnecessary. Jagat Seth takes back his suitcase, leaving the landlord empty-handed and regretting his actions.
Bhushan thanks Jagat Seth, who reminds him that hard work and honesty are always rewarded, while ill-gotten gains never lead to a good outcome.
Bhushan, facing a severe drought in his village, leaves in search of work. He arrives in Vijaypur and, with no place to stay or work, approaches the rich farmer Jagat Seth. Bhushan requests work, explaining the dire situation in his village, and promises to work diligently and honestly.
Jagat Seth offers Bhushan a job caring for 50 cows and 50 buffaloes, which includes daily cleaning, feeding, and watering, for 200 rupees a month and two meals a day. Bhushan, despite the challenges, accepts the offer and asks to live in the cowshed, which Jagat Seth permits. Bhushan works hard and honestly, impressing Jagat Seth, who later doubles his salary to 400 rupees.
Over time, Bhushan accumulates a significant amount of money and builds a small hut for himself. Concerned about increasing theft in the village and the safety of his savings, Bhushan consults Jagat Seth. Jagat Seth advises him to entrust his money to the village landlord, known for being honest and having many guards.
Bhushan visits the landlord and explains his situation, entrusting his savings of 5,800 rupees to him for safekeeping. The landlord reassures Bhushan that his money will be safe and he trusts him as he works for Jagat Seth.
After two years, Bhushan decides to retrieve his money to buy land and become a big farmer. However, the landlord denies knowing Bhushan or receiving any money from him, demanding documents as proof. When Bhushan pleads, the landlord accuses him of being a fraud and has his men beat Bhushan, leaving him injured and heartbroken.
Jagat Seth, concerned about Bhushan's absence, visits him and learns about the landlord's betrayal. Realizing the landlord's deceit, Jagat Seth devises a plan to help Bhushan retrieve his money. He goes to the landlord with a suitcase full of money, pretending to be going on a business trip and wanting to entrust 500,000 rupees to the landlord, praising his honesty.
