A Professor Let Scientists Inject Him With DMT for 3 Months | Carl Hayden Smith

DMT Research and the fMRI Experience00:00:00

The guest recounts his experience as a subject in early DMT clinical studies, detailing the challenges of fMRI scanning during the experience and his interaction with entities who claimed he was not 'scheduled' to be there.

Purpose of DMT Studies and Consciousness00:05:01

The study's primary objective was to explore the nature of consciousness rather than treating specific medical conditions. The guest explains the safety protocols and the intravenous administration of DMT used in the research.

Entities and Hyper-reality00:07:09

Discussion on the high frequency of entity encounters during DMT experiences, debating whether they are subconscious archetypes or something external, and the potential for investigating common spaces in DMT reality.

Consciousness as Fundamental00:11:18

The conversation shifts to idealism and the theory that consciousness is fundamental. The guest discusses the limitations of human perception, comparing it to a flawed 'VR headset' that psychedelics can help recalibrate.

DMTX and Life Review00:16:46

The guest explains the concept of DMTX (DMT extended state) and his personal experiences, including a profound life review and the concept of accessing vast knowledge or multiple 'unities' beyond typical non-dual states.

Technological Upgrades and Memory00:32:10

The guest highlights the importance of journaling and 'memory palaces' for sense-making and consciousness expansion. He warns against the dystopian potential of technologies that aim to turn life into a perfectly recorded, data-driven experience.

Cyberdelics and Ancient Sites00:40:48

Exploration of 'cyberdelics'—using technology like light flicker devices or sensory tools to alter consciousness. The discussion concludes with the guest's background in reconstructing ancient architectural sites and using satellite data to investigate mysteries like the Giza Plateau.
