Highlights
Su Zeyu, a fervent suitor of Zhou Ruoyun, challenges Li Hao to a stock market competition, aiming to embarrass him. Li Hao accepts, using his knowledge of the future from the novel's plot. Despite Li Ming's continued attempts to undermine him (including manipulating investment advice from a Liu Group director, Yan Shengtao, and trying to secure a marriage with Liu Ruyan), Li Hao secures financial support from his family and Uncle Liu.
During the stock market competition, Li Hao's strategic investments lead to massive profits, dramatically outperforming Su Zeyu. Li Ming, driven by jealousy and a desire to win, makes desperate and poorly advised investments, leading to significant losses. He then attempts to frame Li Hao for embezzling company funds to buy gifts. However, Li Hao proves his innocence with transaction records for the gifts, showcasing Li Ming's malicious intent to the family.
Li Ming, now completely exposed as manipulative and untrustworthy, tries to dismantle the Li and Zhou Groups by collaborating with Su Zeyu. He attempts to destabilize the Li Group's finances and orchestrate the kidnapping of Liu Ruyan, framing Li Hao. Li Hao, having anticipated these moves, uses his monitoring software to preemptively counter Li Ming's actions. The family discovers Li Ming's true nature, leading to Li Zhenhai disowning him and transferring Li Ming's shares to Li Hao.
Li Ming, in a final act of desperation, confronts Li Hao. He hires hitmen to kill Li Hao after the kidnapping plot fails. However, due to Li Hao's foreknowledge and strategic planning, the assassins mistakenly target Li Ming in the dark due to a pre-arranged password trick. Li Ming sustains severe head injuries, falling into a coma and likely becoming a 'vegetable,' while Li Hao escapes relatively unharmed, solidifying his position and the integrity of the Li and Zhou families.
Lee Ho, a 'fake young master' from a skit, is found by his real family, the Li family. However, the adopted son, Li Ming, uses his 'heart voice' ability to manipulate everyone, hoping to dislodge Li Hao. Unbeknownst to Li Ming, Li Hao also possesses the ability to hear thoughts. Li Ming's initial attempts involve portraying Li Hao as ill-mannered and ungrateful, causing initial tension with the family, which Li Hao cleverly diffuses by feigning emotional reaction.
Li Ming escalates his attempts by framing Li Hao for stealing his sister's underwear. He plants the items under Li Hao's pillow and claims Li Hao threatened him. Li Hao, aware of Li Ming's intentions through his heart-reading ability, reveals he has surveillance cameras in his room, catching Li Ming in the act. This leads to Li Ming being exposed and Li Hao gaining further trust and affection from his family, including monetary gifts and a car.
Li Hao and Li Ming attend Jiangcheng University, where Li Ming continues his attempts to sabotage Li Hao. Li Hao encounters Zhou Ruoyun, the 'school beauty,' who in the original novel was pursued unsuccessfully by Li Ming. Zhou Ruoyun, aware of Li Ming's manipulative nature, unexpectedly asks Li Hao to be her fake boyfriend to avoid an arranged marriage, further thwarting Li Ming's plans.
