Filled with joy, Mary immediately traveled to visit her cousin Elizabeth in the mountains. Upon Mary's arrival, Elizabeth's baby (John the Baptist) leaped in her womb. Mary responded with the Magnificat, expressing her soul's glorification of God, who had looked upon her humility and would be praised by all generations. After three months, Mary returned to Nazareth.
Back in Nazareth, Joseph noticed Mary's pregnancy, which caused him great concern and prompted gossip from the people. One night, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, reassuring him not to be afraid to marry Mary because the child she carried was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was the Son of God. Joseph awoke filled with joy, ready to embrace Mary and await the birth of Jesus.
