Geppetto, an old toy maker, carves a puppet from a special log. To his surprise, the puppet, which he names Pinocchio, comes to life, talking and dancing like a real child.
Geppetto sells his coat to buy Pinocchio school supplies. On his way to school, Pinocchio is lured by a circus tent, spends his money to enter, and ends up performing on stage. He is captured by the circus owner but is eventually saved by a fairy after expressing regret.
Pinocchio, on his way back to school, encounters a fox and a cat who trick him into giving them his money for a 'magic money tree.' When the fairy questions him, Pinocchio lies, causing his nose to grow until he confesses the truth. The fairy restores his nose and returns his money, warning him not to waste it again.
The circus owner catches Pinocchio and throws him into the sea. Pinocchio, made of wood, floats and swims until he is swallowed by a giant fish. Meanwhile, Geppetto, searching for Pinocchio, is also swallowed by the same fish. They joyfully reunite inside the fish and Pinocchio apologizes for his disobedience.
The fairy, seeing Pinocchio's genuine regret, rescues him and Geppetto. Pinocchio becomes a good and obedient boy, attending school and helping his father. As a reward, the fairy transforms him into a real boy, bringing immense joy to Geppetto.
An old couple, longing for a child, bakes a gingerbread man. The old lady decorates it, and when she draws its mouth, the gingerbread man comes to life and starts talking and running.
The gingerbread man jumps out of the kitchen and runs away, proclaiming repeatedly, 'Run, run as fast as you can, but nobody can catch me because I'm the gingerbread man.' The old lady, and later a cow, a pig, and a chicken, all try to catch him but fail.
The gingerbread man reaches a river and cannot cross. A sly fox offers to help him, instructing the gingerbread man to ride on his tail, then his back, then his head, and finally his nose, intending to eat him. As the fox attempts to devour him, a crow catches the gingerbread man, but he cleverly escapes by making the crow talk, causing him to fall and run away once more.
