This video demonstrates how to play any Scratch game using a controller, supporting both mouse and keyboard input, and even allowing controller-based mouse pointer control.
First, go to scratchaddons.com, click download to be redirected to the Chrome Web Store, and add the Scratch Addons extension to your browser. After installation, click the puzzle piece icon, then select Scratch Addons.
Navigate to the Addons section, search for 'Gamepad', and turn on Gamepad support. Connect your controller to your PC and ensure any necessary drivers are installed.
Go to scratch.mit.edu and open an existing project or create a new one. Look for a gamepad icon; if it's not visible, reload the page or check your controller connection. Click the gamepad icon to open the configuration window. Here, you can move joysticks and press buttons; areas that turn yellow indicate where you can assign keys. You can also use presets from dropdown menus, such as arrow keys for movement scripts, or assign the cursor to control the mouse pointer with the controller.
After configuring, your controller will work with your Scratch scripts. The video concludes with a gameplay demonstration of 'Paper Minecraft' played with a controller.
