Dr. Sean George describes the events of October 24, 2008, when he experienced chest discomfort while driving back from a diabetes clinic. He stopped at a clinic in Kambalda, where an ECG revealed he was having a heart attack.
Dr. George's condition worsened, leading to a cardiac arrest. Medical staff, including Dr. Shetty, attempted resuscitation through CPR and defibrillation, administering thirteen shocks over 48 minutes. After this time, Dr. George's heart activity flatlined.
After over an hour of resuscitation attempts, Dr. Sean George was declared dead. His wife, Sherry, was contacted and rushed to the clinic in Kambalda.
Sherry prays at Sean's bedside after her father encourages her to do so.. Miraculously, Dr. George's heartbeat returned after Sherry prayed. The medical team resumed resuscitation efforts. However, Dr. George had been dead for one hour and 20 minutes, raising concerns about brain damage.
Dr. George was transported to Royal Perth Hospital, where doctors found a blockage in his right coronary artery and inserted a stent. Despite initial concerns of brain death due to kidney and liver failure, Dr. George showed signs of recovery, opening his eyes and eventually regaining full brain function.
Dr. George defied all odds and made an unprecedented full recovery. He returned to work as Head of Internal Medicine. Sherry notes that Dr. George has been given a second chance and wants others to know the word of God.
