Highlights
Megamind finds a home, learning the differences between right and wrong. He develops an amazing intellect and a knack for building, contrasting with Metro Man's inherent powers.
At school, Megamind again encounters Metro Man, who has amassed many admirers. Megamind's attempts to gain affection through his talents backfire, teaching him that good receives praise while evil is punished.
Feeling like an outcast and always picked last, Megamind realizes that being 'bad' is the one thing he's good at. He decides to embrace his destiny as a supervillain and maintain his rivalry with Metro Man.
Their battles become more elaborate. His rival takes the name Metro Man, defender of Metro City. Megamind, in turn, chooses a more humble name: Megamind, incredibly handsome criminal genius and master of all villainy.
Megamind describes his rather unusual childhood, being outcast at eight days old and given away by his parents, leading him to wonder about his destiny.
He encounters another alien child, who would later become Metro Man, and their glorious rivalry is born. Megamind experiences early setbacks while his counterpart seemingly receives all the luck.
