Tephra introduces the ultimate Devil Dinosaur guide, sharing his experience and knowledge. Devil Dinosaur is immune to displacements, takes reduced headshot damage, and generates less ult charge for enemies and allies. His second passive, Apex Advantage, grants overhealth whenever he inflicts bleeding and deals damage.
Unlike other characters, Devil Dinosaur uses his tail for melee attacks, requiring players to swing the camera. His primary fire, Chomp, bites targets and applies a bleed effect that deals percentage damage, making it effective against tanks and synergizing with his overhealth passive.
The Impact Beam applies bleed, slows targets, and can ground flying enemies. It pierces through enemies and is great for spreading bleed, but requires holding the beam for 1-2 seconds for full effect. Savage Predation is a dash and leap that bites enemies, applying bleed. If the target is already bleeding, Dino picks them up and hurls them. Jump distance can be controlled by camera direction.
Buddy Barrier creates a 450 HP shield that follows Devil Dinosaur, blocking damage and slowing enemies caught inside. It's useful for pushing, protecting, and slowing kidnapped targets. Frenzied Feast is an ultimate ability that unleashes four continuous bites, converting damage to bonus health and dealing increased damage to bleeding targets. It provides significant overhealth, capping at 1250 HP.
Devil Beast Rampage makes Dino berserk, granting a speed boost and stomps that launch and bleed enemies, while also slowing them with a sonic shockwave. During this ultimate, Frenzied Feast has a 1-second cooldown and Savage Predation has a 4-second cooldown. Devil Dinosaur also has a team-up with Punisher, allowing Punisher to ride Dino, taking reduced damage while Dino absorbs some of the damage, creating a powerful frontline combo.
As a tank, Devil Dinosaur should be played on the front line, spreading bleed to generate overhealth. The ideal loop involves biting non-bleeding targets, using Savage Predation to kidnap bleeding enemies into your backline, and then following up with Frenzied Feast. Prioritize tanks, but grab out-of-position squishies for guaranteed kills. Use Buddy Barrier to keep kidnapped enemies in place and block heals. Position smartly, as Savage Predation is his only movement ability and should primarily be used for repositioning or escape, unless ult is active. Devil Dinosaur excels at brawling tanks due to his percentage damage and shield-piercing abilities.
