Tsai joins religious procession

The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage is one of Taiwan's largest religious events. Unlike other fixed routes, the path is determined spontaneously by the sea goddess Mazu, leading followers on unpredictable and sometimes difficult journeys.

President Tsai Ing-wen became the first president to join the procession, walking 4.3 kilometers. She focused on the religious event and declined to discuss political matters or her re-election campaign.
