Toby introduces his background, growing up in a Christian household with a Singaporean Chinese father and Polish-American mother. He describes a rocky childhood marked by a difficult relationship with his father, violence, learning disabilities, and a speech impediment.
The family moves to New Zealand, where Toby experiences culture shock and faces racial slurs. He gets involved in fights and joins his first gang at age 11 due to bullying and a need for protection.
Moving to Malaysia, Toby's older brother gets involved with the Triads. Toby gets recruited after a fight and describes the Triads as a Chinese Mafia involved in various criminal activities. He becomes deeply entrenched, managing recruitment and internal affairs.
Toby begins experiencing sleep paralysis and out-of-body experiences, opening his eyes to the spirit world. Simultaneously, his relationship with his father begins to improve, with his father's anger issues subsiding.
Toby's mom has a prophetic warning that Toby will be killed if they stay in Malaysia. At the airport, a friend gives Toby a New Testament. Back in the States, reeling from betrayal, Toby plans revenge but his mom tells him she prayed that God would do whatever it takes to bring him to Christ and Toby has an experience on the plane.
Filled with rage, Toby reads the New Testament on the plane and sees the words: "In three days I will heal you." He makes a deal with God and finds peace. Three days later, he wakes up without the rage, which goes against his plans for revenge.
Saved from a machete attack by what Toby believes was divine intervention, Toby overdoses soon after, and calls on the name of Jesus. Miraculously, he recovers instantly. He survives a car accident, which leads to a full surrender to God in the hospital.
Toby spends six months reading the New Testament and hears God tell him to quit the mafia and he returns to Penang to quit the Triad. He tells his boss, who releases him from his duty. Toby then goes to his territory and tells all of his recruits that he's out and they all are released of duty.
Toby joins YWAM, earns his GED, and attends college, experiencing healing and redemption in education. Even his name, Toby, is redeemed, signifying 'Christ Heals Over Bad Years'.
Toby becomes involved in missions and shares the gospel, driven by a conviction to share God's love, grace, and redemption with others, with a special focus on those struggling with learning disabilities, mental health, or those trapped in organized crime.
Toby encourages viewers to call on God, emphasizing the power of Jesus to heal and transform. He offers a prayer for healing, deliverance, and a deeper understanding of God's love and intervention.
