The video summarizes the novel 'El filibusterismo', the continuation of 'Noli Me Tángere'. The story begins 13 years after the deaths of Sisa and Elias, on a steamboat traveling on the Pasig River. Among the passengers are Simoun, Basilio, and Isagani. Basilio visits his mother's grave and recognizes Simoun as Juan Crisóstomo Ibarra. Simoun, a jeweler, reveals his plan for revenge against the Spanish government and tries to recruit Basilio, who initially refuses.
Filipino students' petition to establish a Spanish language academy is denied due to the priests' opposition. Simoun meets Basilio again, trying to convince him to join an upcoming revolution with the goal of rescuing Maria Clara. However, Maria Clara dies that afternoon, foiling this part of Simoun's plan.
Students, frustrated by the denial of their petition, openly criticize the priests. Posters inciting rebellion are found at the university, leading to the arrest of suspected students, including Basilio. Basilio's fiancé, Juli, is encouraged to seek help from Father Camorra for his release. Father Camorra assaults Juli, leading her to jump to her death.
Simoun, continuing his revenge plans, partners with Don Timoteo Pelaez and arranges a marriage between Juanito and Paulita Gomez. Two months later, Basilio is released with Simoun's help and fully joins his revolution. Simoun gifts a lamp filled with nitroglycerin to the wedding banquet, intending for it to explode. As the lamp is about to explode, Basilio warns Isagani to leave. Isagani, seeing the lamp dimming, grabs it and throws it into the river, foiling Simoun's plot.
