Highlights
Due to overpopulation and resource depletion, a global one-child policy is enforced. Dr. Nicolette Cayman proposes this law, which leads to children born outside the law being taken away. Terrence Setman's daughter dies after giving birth to seven identical twin girls. He decides to raise them in secret, naming them after the days of the week, and orchestrating a life where they all pretend to be one person, Karen Setman, appearing outside on their designated day.
Terrence trains the girls to live as one person. One day, a young Thursday sneaks out and loses a finger, forcing the other six sisters to also lose a finger to maintain their shared identity. This incident highlights the sacrifices they make to keep their secret safe.
Years later, Monday goes to work, aiming for a promotion. Her colleague, Jerry, hints at knowing her secret. Monday never returns home. The sisters are worried and Tuesday takes her place the next day to investigate. She discovers that 'Karen Setman' celebrated a promotion at a bar and had an argument with Jerry, leading them to believe Jerry knows their secret.
Tuesday is captured by agents from the Child Allocation Bureau and taken to Dr. Cayman. Cayman reveals she knows about the sisters and deems their existence selfish. Armed agents then raid the sisters' apartment, and Sunday is killed during the ensuing fight, further increasing the sisters' desperation and resolve.
Wednesday visits Jerry, who, before being killed by a sniper, reveals he knows about a large illegal money transfer to Cayman's election campaign. Wednesday narrowly escapes after a shoot-out, but is ultimately killed by Joe, Cayman's assistant, while trying to flee across rooftops. Only three sisters remain.
Saturday encounters Adrien, who is revealed to be Karen Setman's lover. The sisters, using Adrien's access, tap into the bureau's server and discover that the cryo capsules, meant for preserving children, are actually furnaces. They realize Monday is alive and has been conspiring with Cayman.
As agents storm the apartment again, Friday sacrifices herself in an explosion to transmit crucial data to her sisters. Thursday and Adrien infiltrate the bureau, discovering the horrifying truth about the cryo-furnaces. They find Tuesday, but Monday is revealed to be working with Cayman, having betrayed her sisters for her own survival and love for Adrien.
Thursday confronts Monday at Cayman's campaign event. Tuesday broadcasts the truth about the bureau's atrocities to the world. A struggle ensues, resulting in Monday's death. Cayman is arrested, and the one-child policy is repealed. Monday's unborn twins are saved, and the surviving sisters, Tuesday and Thursday, adopt new identities, ensuring a better future.
