Sonic and Tails encounter Dr. Robotnik and his bounty hunters. Dr. Robotnik recounts how his rivalry with Sonic started when he declared Sonic the 'Most Wanted Fugitive' on Mobius, offering a huge reward for his capture.

Sonic skillfully outmaneuvers and escapes the numerous bounty hunters Dr. Robotnik assembled, showcasing his speed and agility. He even turns their pursuit into a 'greatest show on Mobius' for the public.

Frustrated by Sonic's escapes, Dr. Robotnik decides to create stronger, more intelligent robots to capture him. He introduces the first member of his 'Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad'.

Dr. Robotnik attempts to clone his first robot, leading to a malfunction that creates two distinct, albeit bickering, robots: Scratch and Grounder. They immediately vie for Robotnik's favor.

Demoted to sanitation duty, Coconuts, another of Robotnik's robots, tries to capture Sonic on his own while Sonic is ordering chili dogs. Coconuts' efforts prove to be unsuccessful.

Scratch and Grounder set up various traps for Sonic, including a fake landscape and a brick wall, but Sonic and Tails easily avoid and dismantle them, often turning the traps against the robots.

Sonic feigns illness to escape Scratch and Grounder, then uses their persistence against them. When captured and tied up, he and Tails create a dust storm and trick Robotnik into crashing his ship into the robots.

Amidst the adventure, Sonic gives a public service announcement, explaining that 911 should only be called for real emergencies, such as fires, break-ins, or injuries, not for trivial matters.
