Summary
Highlights
Farmer Gopi is unhappy because his field isn't yielding any crops. While digging, he discovers an empty pot. He accidentally drops his hoe into it, and suddenly there are 100 hoes, revealing the pot's magical multiplying ability.
Excited, Gopi brings the pot home and tests it with an egg, then an apple and bread, which all multiply into hundreds. He decides to use the pot to sell multiplied goods in the kingdom market, making him rich and drawing envy from other sellers.
Soldiers, alerted by jealous sellers, follow Gopi and witness the pot multiplying chicks. The soldier reports this to the king, who immediately orders Gopi and the magic pot to be brought to him and confiscates it for the kingdom's treasure.
The king approaches the pot to inspect it and accidentally slips, falling inside. In moments, 100 copies of the king appear in the hall, causing chaos as they all claim to be the real king and fight for the throne.
Realizing the pot's danger, Gopi sneaks out with it during the confusion and throws it off a cliff, destroying it. From that day, Gopi's field becomes fertile again, and he learns that hard work, not magic, is the key to prosperity.
