Buster Moon welcomes an audience of 'all creatures great and small' to the Moon Theater, proudly presenting the stage lit entirely by 'squid power' and proclaiming it a 'palace of wonder and magic' before introducing the first contestant.
A character named Mike barges in, claiming Moon has his money, which is supposedly in a chest. Moon tries to deflect, stating it's prize money, but eventually hands over the chest, claiming he doesn't have the keys. Mike's associate breaks the lock.
Upon opening the chest, it's revealed to be empty, prompting a furious reaction from Mike and the crowd. Moon tries to explain, but an angry elephant inadvertently triggers a chain reaction causing the entire Moon Theater to collapse into a spectacular, catastrophic disaster.
Following the devastating collapse of the Moon Theater, the scene shows the remnants of the once grand structure, with Buster Moon and the remaining contestants surveying the damage.
