Highlights
Grade 4 Music learners will acquire knowledge of fundamental musical elements such as rhythm, melody, tempo, dynamics, timbre, texture, form, and harmony. They will also explore how these elements are integrated into folk songs, community music, festivals, and various cultural traditions, fostering an understanding of music's role in daily life and its reflection of community identity and heritage.
The curriculum focuses on developing practical musical skills. Learners are expected to sing accurately, execute rhythmic and melodic patterns, identify musical elements during listening activities, and use available or improvised instruments for accompanying performances. Emphasis is also placed on creating simple musical compositions, experimenting with sounds, and expressing ideas and emotions individually and collaboratively through music.
Beyond musical knowledge and skills, the curriculum aims to instill important values including appreciation for Filipino culture, creativity, confidence, discipline, cooperation, respect for others, and responsibility. Through musical performances and creative activities, learners enhance self-expression while developing teamwork and respecting diverse cultural practices.
