Radha expresses her frustration with her highly controlled life and her father's strict rules. Her father, Ajeet Singh, is a proud Thakur who adheres to traditional values. He arranges Radha's marriage to Amar Singh without her consent.

Radha confides in her uncle about her desire to experience the world outside their mansion. With her uncle's help, she convinces her father to allow her to visit their cottage at a hill station for a few days.

At the hill station, Radha escapes her guardians and is enchanted by the sound of a flute. She meets Shyam, a humble cowherd, who saves her from falling. They instantly feel a connection, and Radha is captivated by his flute playing.

Radha and Shyam meet again by chance. Shyam reveals his name and that he is a cowherd. Radha, not revealing her true identity, listens as Shyam expresses his mother's advice to stay away from the 'heartless' rich, unaware of Radha's true status. Their bond deepens, symbolized by a spilled milk incident.

Shyam's mother disapproves of his affection for Radha, believing her to be a maid from a rich household. Radha's father, Ajeet Singh, discovers Radha and Shyam's secret meetings and publicly humiliates Shyam, forbidding him from seeing his daughter. Radha, distraught, lies about her identity to protect Shyam, which causes a temporary rift between them, but they reconcile, solidifying their love.

Shyam's mother accepts Radha as she believes Radha is a maid, but expresses concern about Ajeet Singh's power. Ajeet Singh, driven by pride, tricks his brother Shrikant into leaving town by falsely claiming to approve of Radha and Shyam's marriage. He then plans to marry Radha to Ambar Singh.

Radha discovers her father's deception and refuses to marry Ambar Singh. Ajeet Singh threatens to kill Shyam and his family if Radha does not comply, forcing her to agree to the marriage to save Shyam's life.

A friend helps Shyam escape from jail. Meanwhile, Radha is forced to marry Ambar Singh. Ambar, deeply in love with Radha, promises to win her affection, despite her declared love for Shyam and her refusal to accept him as her husband.

Ambar Singh tries to win Radha's love at their hill station cottage, but Radha's heart remains with Shyam. Ambar's patience wears thin, and he becomes aggressive, leading Radha to attempt suicide.

Shyam, distraught, searches for Radha. Ajeet Singh, believing Shyam to be a threat to his family's honor, hires the killer Bhima to murder Shyam. Radha's uncle, Shrikant, learns of Bhima's past actions and his contract.

Radha and Shyam are reunited but are confronted by Ambar Singh, who attempts to burn Shyam alive. Shrikant intervenes. Bhima appears, revealing he killed Shrikant's beloved Kasturi years ago under Ajeet Singh's contract, leading to a violent confrontation. Ambar Singh, recognizing the depth of Radha and Shyam's love, finally accepts their union. Ajeet Singh also acknowledges his mistake, and Shyam survives, promising a new life with Radha.
