Highlights
The video introduces the Universidad Central del Este's final project system, where students can submit their thesis topic. Access the platform using the provided web address and enter your university credentials. Upon logging in, navigate to your respective area or school (e.g., Medicine) where you will conduct your research and final project.
The system offers three modalities for final projects: thesis, project, or monograph. To submit a thesis topic, click on the relevant section. This will lead to a page displaying previously created theses, with an option to create a new thesis in the upper right corner. Select 'new thesis' to begin.
A form will appear requesting information about your thesis. Select 'thesis de grado' as the type, and enter your thesis title and the area of knowledge. You'll also need to specify your university campus (e.g., 'sede central').
If working in a group (up to three students), one student creates the topic and adds the names and matrícula numbers of their teammates. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk. While the start and end dates are autogenerated and shouldn't be changed, you can optionally select an advisor if you have one identified. This field is not mandatory at this stage.
Select the research methods and techniques you will use in your thesis from the provided list. Although there's an option to upload an anteproyecto or thesis document, it's not necessary at this initial stage of topic creation. Obligatory sections include 'justificación' (justification), 'problema científico' (scientific problem), and 'bibliografía' (bibliography), which should follow APA or Vancouver standards. Specifying objectives and methodological aspects like population and sample is optional but recommended.
You can add reviewers, who will monitor your thesis development but cannot modify it. After completing all fields, click 'create'. A green bar will confirm the thesis was created with a unique identifier. Initially, the topic is in draft mode. To submit it for evaluation, change its status to 'enviado' (submitted). Once submitted, only notes and file uploads can be modified by the student. The topic is then sent to the thesis unit for review and evaluation.
