Summary
Highlights
All final project information, including rubrics for the three deliverables and detailed instructions, is uploaded in the course shell under the 'Resources' section, specifically in the 'Final Project' segment.
The final project requires students to individually design and create a 'three-dimensional document' consisting of a presentation, a written document, and a graphical component. The goal is to communicate persuasively and effectively regarding an object, game, or service.
Students will select an object, video game concept, or service as their project topic. Key areas to concentrate on are the target audience, the purpose of the item, and the occasion (why it's relevant now). Options include creating something from scratch, improving an existing item, or analyzing an existing item of interest.
The core requirement is a 3-5 page technical document, to be submitted as both a PDF and Word document before final presentations. It should contain at least one sketch or graphical representation and an audience profile analysis.
A graphical document (e.g., PowerPoint, brochure, infographic) must accompany the product or service. This is used in the oral presentation and submitted afterward. Extra credit is available for innovative, original designs or for adapting/repurposing existing concepts creatively.
Important deadlines include topic approval by January 28th, a draft of the technical document by February 11th, the final report by February 25th, and oral presentations (10-15 minutes) on March 2nd and 3rd. Students must be prepared for audience questions during presentations.
The video briefly explains the rubrics for each deliverable: the technical document (assessing various criteria for A, B, C, or F grades), the graphical document (creativity, craftsmanship, composition, effort), and the oral presentation (content, organization, delivery, interaction, etc.).
