The Life of Jesus - In Two Minutes

Throughout history, certain individuals have stood out as inspiring figures who challenged beliefs, introduced new ideas, and sometimes even changed the world. Jesus of Nazareth is presented as one such person, with his life story drawing primarily from the Christian Holy Book, the Bible.

Born a Jew in Bethlehem to the virgin Mary around 4 B.C.E., Jesus initially worked as a carpenter. At approximately 30 years old, he was baptized by his cousin John and began his ministry as a traveling preacher.

Jesus's core teaching, famously delivered in the Sermon on the Mount, was the Golden Rule: 'Do to others what you would have them do to you.' He also used parables to convey profound messages and performed numerous miracles, including turning water into wine, calming storms, healing the sick, and raising the dead. He selected 12 disciples to assist in spreading his message.

His followers referred to him as the Messiah or Christ, initially hoping for a new Jewish king. However, as they came to know him better, they believed him to be God in human form or God's son.

Around the age of 33, Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem under Roman orders. Three days later, he resurrected, demonstrating God's power over evil and promising life after death. He then ascended to heaven, with a promise to return one day. Today, Jesus's example and teachings continue to inspire billions globally.
