Sonic's use of his powers leads powerful enemies to their island. Long Claw sacrifices herself to protect Sonic, giving him rings to escape to a safe planet on the far side of the universe. She instructs him to use the rings if he is ever discovered and to 'never stop running'.
Now on Earth, Sonic lives a solitary but active life, observing the town of Green Hills, Montana. He secretly engages in activities like playing baseball and helping a turtle cross the road, all while trying to remain hidden from humans.
Sonic showcases his hidden home, complete with a library, home gym, and security system. He explains his plan to use his rings to escape to a mushroom planet if he's discovered. He considers the people of Green Hills his 'people,' including 'Donut Lord' (Tom Wachowski) and 'Pretzel Lady' (Maddie Wachowski), and notes that 'Crazy Carl' is the only one who suspects his existence.
