The program, focusing on the protection of at-risk youth, aims to provide a safe and rehabilitative environment. It is hoped that through this project, juvenile offenders will be able to experience hope, have dreams, and feel loved, ultimately giving them an opportunity to change and create a better future.
The video opens by revealing the grim reality of Filipino children, including an 11-year-old on his third imprisonment, being held in adult jails alongside adult criminals. Images of children behind bars have been broadcast globally, highlighting thousands of children in the Philippines locked away in adult prisons, associating freely with older inmates.
A powerful message emphasizes that all children deserve love, a chance to dream, and hope for a future. It's a reminder to reflect on the dreams and hopes of our own childhoods and to extend that compassion to these vulnerable children.
Bahay Pag-Asa is presented as a preventive and corrective measure to address the urgent needs of minors caught in a difficult life with no apparent future. The center will accommodate male children aged 15 to 17, who have been referred by family courts from Cavite and parts of Metro Manila, through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
