The initial plan was to call in sick with 'CO', but an inside source revealed that participants already suspected a prank. A new excuse was quickly devised: a last-minute audition for a big film. The protagonist successfully convinces Lachlan, the seeker and his friend, that he won't be able to make it to the event.
With Lachlan convinced of his absence, the protagonist embarks on his first disguise, Hans the waiter, to serve dinner to Lachlan the night before the competition. A makeup artist transforms him with prosthetics. Despite a wardrobe malfunction with his trousers, the disguise is successful, and Lachlan doesn't recognize him during the dinner service, even when directly served.
The next morning, the protagonist takes on his second disguise, Olaf the taxi driver. With only a mask and sunglasses, this disguise is simpler and easier to spot. He successfully picks up Lachlan and another participant, making small talk and even playfully getting directions wrong, all without being recognized.
For his final and most daring disguise, he becomes Milo the cameraman, complete with a painted 'mole' and a simple hat. This disguise is the most obvious, and he's positioned to look directly at Lachlan. He even joins in on a happy birthday song for Lachlan, who still remains oblivious. As Lachlan searches for other hiders, the protagonist stays close, even having a 'lunch break' in a control room.
During the game, Lachlan suddenly emerges from bushes, nearly catching the protagonist. He fumbles with camera gear, pretending to be crew, and averts the crisis. After the final hider is found, realizing he's won by not being found, he interrupts the podium celebration to reveal his elaborate scheme. He explains his three disguises, shocking Lachlan and the other participants, and declares himself the winner.
