Summary
Highlights
A Low Pressure Area (LPA) located 1,140 km east of Northeastern Mindanao is currently being monitored. It has a low chance of becoming a typhoon within the next 24 hours and is not expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days. The trough of this LPA will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain, lightning, and thunder to Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte. Residents in these areas are advised to be vigilant against flash floods and landslides, especially with moderate to heavy rainfall.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is causing colder weather in parts of Northern Luzon. Cloudy skies and rains are expected in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon Province, and Bicol Region. People are warned about possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to strong rains. Amihan will also bring cloudy conditions with light rains to the Cordillera Administrative Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The remaining parts of Visayas and Mindanao can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, primarily due to localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be cautious of potential flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
