Four contestants embark on a 1000-day Hardcore Minecraft survival challenge for $100,000. They start in a replica of a real-life room and quickly begin to prepare for future challenges. Sweat emerges as a leader, guiding the group from merely surviving to thriving, building a secure base with farms, an XP grinder, and a defense system. They feel confident as Day 100 approaches.
On Day 100, MrBeast introduces the first challenge: defeat the Ender Dragon by Day 200, or everyone loses. The team, led by Sweatgod, meticulously prepares by gathering necessary items, including a trip to the Nether. Despite facing aggressive mobs and intense moments, they successfully defeat the Ender Dragon, learning the stakes of the challenge.
After building their base and sharing personal stories, on Day 200, the next challenge is unveiled: collect 1000 diamonds by Day 300. The team splits up, mining efficiently, and unexpectedly collects all 1000 diamonds in just 10 days, showcasing their exceptional skill and teamwork, which prompts the host to realize the challenges aren't hard enough.
On Day 300, the contestants are tasked with building a massive creeper out of specific (and rare) materials within 100 days. This requires acquiring items like Wither skulls, emeralds, coal blocks, and TNT. They decide to tackle the Wither first, a difficult boss in Minecraft. Despite initial setbacks, they successfully defeat the Wither and gather all materials. After building it, they realize a mistake in the leg structure, requiring them to rebuild it under immense pressure. They complete the build, unknowingly creating their 'worst nightmare'.
On Day 400, the giant creeper they built is revealed to be a ticking bomb, set to explode and demolish everything within a million blocks in 100 days. The Nether is disabled, forcing them to escape by flying with Elytras. The team races to gather Elytras, a dangerous mission. During the escape, Chosen accidentally falls to his death, eliminating him from the challenge. The remaining three push on, flying over a million blocks away to safety.
Having survived the explosion, on Day 500, the two remaining contestants face an 'impossible' parkour course. They must complete it in a predetermined order, with subsequent players waiting for the previous one to finish. Sweat goes first, enduring hundreds of attempts over eight in-game days. He coaches Hassan, who takes significantly longer but eventually finishes. Sunny, the last to attempt, feels immense pressure and emotional strain. Despite a shortcut and jump boost, Sunny is eliminated, leaving only two contestants.
With only two contestants remaining, they each now have a chance to win $50,000. On Day 600, they are challenged to find personalized chests hidden randomly across the Minecraft world using only a golden eye, with a deadline of Day 700. Hassan quickly finds his chest in the End, containing sponges. Sweat's chest is in the Nether, requiring a grueling 60,000-block journey. During his search, Sweat finds a mysterious book offering him $100,000 if he eliminates Hassan, but he chooses to keep it a secret and not betray his friend.
On Day 700, the challenge is revealed: use the sponges from Hassan's chest to drain the entire ocean underneath the parkour course by Day 800. The task proves to be extremely difficult and slow, even with a respiration enchantment for extended underwater time. They discover a large cache of sponges, accelerating their progress. The host intervenes, offering assistance by placing sponges in exchange for promoting Lenovo laptops with Intel Core Ultra 9 processors. This boosts their morale and efficiency significantly.
As Day 800 arrives, they successfully drain the ocean. MrBeast announces there will be no challenges on Day 800 or 900. Their final challenge arrives on Day 999: 999 genetically modified creepers will rain from the sky to destroy their $100,000 prize money. They spend the remaining days building an elaborate obsidian and water defense system, complete with iron golems. On Day 999, the creepers arrive. The two contestants frantically defend their money, patching holes and fending off explosions. As Day 1000 arrives, they successfully protect most of the money, losing only $400, and claim their prize.
