Syngenta Foundation India Celebrates International Tea Day Highlighting Support for Small Tea Growers

On International Tea Day, Syngenta Foundation India (SFI) recognized the people, partnerships, and progress in the tea sector. Since 2019, SFI has collaborated with IDH, HUL, and Luxmi Estates to support over 40,000 Small Tea Growers (STGs) in Assam and North Bengal. Their interventions include promoting safe production, income diversification, mechanization, and women-led enterprises to create a resilient, inclusive, and traceable tea value chain.

This year's celebration involved awareness meetings, community engagement, and sharing inspiring stories. An example is Dipen Gogoi, an Agri-Entrepreneur from Madhuting Gaon, Dibrugarh, who successfully transformed his tea garden into a thriving organic enterprise, showcasing the impact of SFI's work.
