Development Challenges and Scheme Implementation in Assam

Assam's government is neglecting infrastructure development in less advanced districts. Various developmental and welfare schemes, including financial assistance through microfinance and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) for self-help groups, are being implemented at a very low rate. A lack of proper awareness among beneficiaries further exacerbates these issues.

The government of Assam launched numerous free schemes and direct money transfer initiatives to beneficiaries' bank accounts, such as Mukhya Mantri Atmonirvar Yojona, Mukhya Mantri Udyamita Abhiyan, Aroonodoi Achoni, and the Assam Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme. While these schemes are intended for welfare, they are not contributing to economic development. Instead, they are foster laziness and a preference for easy money over hard work among the populace.
