Barbie and Brooklyn try to find where Peggy came from, taking her to the stables and posting online. Their family and neighbors are unaware of their magical discovery, leading to comical attempts to hide Peggy from others, especially from the grumpy Skipper and their observant neighbor, Reardon.
Peggy reveals her magical ability to fly to Barbie, confirming their suspicion that she's no ordinary horse. Research leads them to the legend of Pegasus, and they realize Peggy is a baby Pegasus. Barbie deduces that Peggy arrived with the giant wave and might be able to return home with another large swell.
Barbie and Brooklyn strategize to get Peggy to the beach for an upcoming large swell to send her home. Their plans are complicated by Trey, a neighbor who is infatuated with Brooklyn. They also encounter a mysterious girl on a scooter who seems to know more about magical creatures and is pursuing Peggy. They narrowly escape her, but miss the wave.
Just as Brooklyn prepares to leave for New York, her parents announce they've moved to Malibu, allowing her to stay. This means she can continue to help Barbie get Peggy home. The mysterious scooter girl, revealed to be a 'glyph' who is a trickster, is determined to outplay Barbie and get Peggy for herself, setting up future conflict.
