His first mission is to investigate Ye Chen, a man in a photo, and he hopes to quickly set Long Yuehui up with Ye Chen so he can resign and secure a hefty compensation, dreaming of early retirement and a peaceful life. Unbeknownst to him, Long Yuehui can hear all his inner thoughts, which often leads her to misinterpret his intentions.
Feng Yi strategizes to bring Long Yuehui and Ye Chen together at an upcoming banquet, hoping this will lead to his prompt dismissal. To protect Long Yuehui and untangle the web of conspiracies, Feng Yi orchestrates a temporary alliance between Ye Chen and Fu Tingchuan, the two male leads, by strategically manipulating information about Ye Chen's kidnapped sister, Qingcheng.
Feng Yi discovers that Xie Yanli, Long Yuehui's childhood fiancé who was in a coma, has awakened and is involved in the assassination attempts. With his enhanced hacking skills, Feng Yi tracks relevant individuals and learns that Xie Yanli is the true mastermind. Feng Yi rescues Ye Qingcheng from Xie Yanli's capture, preventing a major conflict between Ye Chen and Fu Tingchuan, and earning Ye Chen's gratitude while further complicating his own position in the convoluted plot.
Feng Yi returns from his mission in M country, still intent on resigning, but is met with Long Yuehui's growing affection, including a forceful kiss. Long Yuehui arranges a blind date, hoping to gauge Feng Yi's true feelings. Driven by jealousy and a desire to secure her, Feng Yi crashes the date and confesses his feelings for Long Yuehui, pulling her away and officially making her his girlfriend. This turn of events leads to a hilarious and surprising revelation where Long Yuehui admits to tying him up out of fear he would leave her, based on his inner thoughts about wanting to quit his job. They reconcile, with Long Yuehui finally granting him leave and embracing their unique relationship.
