On April 4, 2026, SSDP held a Career Guidance Meeting for Class X students and their parents. Facilitated by experts like Dr. Durai Ganesh, Dr. T. S. Sudha, and Dr. Andreas Bachmann, the session explained post-SSLC educational options including Higher Secondary, Diploma, ITI, Polytechnic, and Skill Development Courses, encouraging informed decision-making based on interests and career aspirations.
The sponsorship application process for the 2026-2027 academic year began on May 8, 2026. A review meeting on May 22, 2026, with key personnel, aimed to enhance transparency and ensure support reaches genuinely needy students. By June 30, 2026, 40 applications were received, with home visits scheduled from July 1, 2026, for verification, reaffirming SSDP's commitment to supporting deserving students.
A strategic review and planning meeting on May 25, 2026, brought together stakeholders to assess program progress and identify future priorities. Discussions focused on improving sponsorship management, career guidance, employability training, and student monitoring. Mr. Gowtham assumed the role of Project Executive, strengthening program coordination and implementation.
Regular Sunday Skill Development Classes commenced on June 14, 2026, offering practical skills in communication, computer literacy, aptitude, personality development, and employability. An alumna, Ms. Aruna from Cognizant Technology Solutions, led the inaugural aptitude session, sharing her journey and inspiring students, highlighting a growing alumni contribution to mentoring.
On June 20, 2026, SSDP distributed sponsorship cheques to 15 college students at Appa Sannidhi, providing educational assistance to alleviate financial barriers to higher education. The event included Managing Trustee Mrs. Vijayalakshmi and other key officials, emphasizing the Trust's commitment to supporting students' academic goals.
The SSDP Alumni Meet on June 21, 2026, aimed to strengthen alumni connections and establish an active network for supporting current students. Attendees discussed SSDP's future vision and the alumni's role in mentoring and knowledge sharing. Former students shared their success stories, inspiring participants and reinforcing the program's long-term impact and sustainability.
The quarter marked significant progress, including career guidance, the sponsorship cycle launch, strategic planning, skill development classes, financial aid, and alumni engagement. Forty sponsorship applications were received, and 15 college students received assistance. Future plans include completing sponsorship selections, continuing skill development, strengthening career guidance, and enhancing alumni engagement to support student success.
