Highlights
A persistent salesman, Wes Weasley, approaches Dr. Robotnik, offering his company's helpful gadgets. Robotnik, desperate to catch Sonic, is enticed by the first offering: the 'Darkenator,' a device that eliminates all light. Despite an initial successful demonstration, the device fails during its use against Sonic, as it spreads darkness beyond their control. Sonic and Tails escape while Robotnik's henchmen, Scratch and Grounder, are ticketed for parking in the dark.
Undeterred by the Darkenator's failure, Wes Weasley convinces Robotnik to purchase the 'Freeze-Banger,' a device designed to freeze Sonic. When deployed, Sonic tricks Scratch and Grounder into freezing themselves solid. He then helps them thaw out, proving the device's ineffectiveness and Robotnik's henchmen's incompetence.
Ignoring the previous failures, Robotnik buys the 'Gravity Stopper.' This device eliminates gravity, making it impossible for Sonic to run. While effective, Tails can still fly, carrying Sonic to safety. Additionally, Scratch and Grounder can't catch them without gravity boots, which Wes Weasley had offered as a bonus but now claims he can't refund because they were 'free.'
Wes Weasley then introduces Robotnik to the 'De-Atomizer,' a device meant to make Sonic disappear. During the demonstration, Robotnik activates a mysterious red switch, which instead of atomizing Sonic, clones him five times. This creates a chaotic situation with multiple Sonics, further frustrating Robotnik and forcing Wes Weasley to flee.
Following Wes Weasley's repeated failures, another salesman, Sid Sharkley, appears, claiming to be from the same company. Sharkley demonstrates a new device that combines all the previous gadgets – the Darkenator, Freeze-Banger, and Gravity Stopper – along with a new feature that traps Sonic. This time, the device works, trapping Sonic, but it's revealed that Sharkley is actually a disguised freedom fighter, who uses the opportunity to free Sonic, escaping himself and leaving Robotnik once again defeated and frustrated.
