To begin, save your Scratch game to your computer. Click on the 'File' tab in Scratch, then select 'Save to your computer'. This will download an .sb3 file of your project to your downloads folder.
Next, go to the TurboWarp Packager link (found in the video description). Choose your .sb3 file and open it. This tool allows you to package your Scratch game into a standalone application.
After opening your file, a variety of options will appear. You can adjust runtime settings (frame rate, interpolation), stage resolution (recommended to stretch for full screen), player options (title, icon, loading elements), and controls (green flag, stop, pause, fullscreen buttons). The crucial setting is the 'Environment'.
For GameJolt, it's ideal to choose 'Windows application 32bit or 64bit'. This will create a .zip file containing an executable game, which users will need to extract after downloading. After configuring, click 'Package' to create the .zip file.
Log into GameJolt, go to your profile, and select 'Games'. Click 'Add Game' and fill in the initial game details. These settings can be adjusted later. Once done, you'll be on the game's dashboard.
On the game dashboard, navigate to the 'Packages' tab. Scroll down and click 'Add Package'. Then, click 'New Release'. This is where you upload your .zip file. Click 'Choose file' and select the .zip you created earlier. Assign a version number and allow it to upload.
After uploading, designate which operating systems can run your game (e.g., Windows 64bit, Mac). Finally, click 'Publish Release'. Your game will then be available on its GameJolt page. You can add multiple packages if your game supports different platforms.
