The family begins their road trip with road snacking, quickly leading to spilled candy and soda incidents. After being told the journey would take three days, Bill proposes a 'Thunder Run' to get there in a single day, meaning no stops, and even suggests a jar for bathroom breaks, igniting a chant for a 'Lightning Run'.
During the drive, they hit something, and Tilly believes it's a bug, which Bill tries to hide because of Tilly's love for animals. Gramma's attempt to clean the windshield makes it worse, and Tilly falls asleep, waking up later unaware of the bug incident.
The family stops at a Burger Clown, where Gramma hilariously tries to order lasagna and Tilly asks for multiple toys instead of food. Later, Bill asks Nancy to drive, revealing that Cricket is an incredibly loud snorer, much to Gramma's annoyance.
