On his 18th birthday, a Daily Intelligence System activates, revealing hidden opportunities like the 'Extreme Yang Grass' that Deacon Li Jie is after. Yang Ming, previously ridiculed, decides to use this system to change his fate and pass the internal examination, breaking through to the Foundation Establishment Realm.
Yang Ming confronts Deacon Li Jie, who attempts to steal the Extreme Yang Grass. Despite being in the Qi Refining Realm, Yang Ming demonstrates strength beyond his apparent level. He secures the Extreme Yang Grass and further enhances his power, aiming to condense 5,000 channels of qi and blood to break into a hidden 10th realm of cultivation, transcending his mortal body.
The intelligence system alerts Yang Ming to the Golden Lotus Demon Flame, a powerful foreign fire. He uses a contract scroll, initially meant for demonic pets, to subdue it, increasing his power significantly. Li Jie tries to kill Yang Ming to claim the treasure, but Yang Ming, powered by the Golden Lotus, defeats him, revealing his unique path of cultivation.
Yang Ming uses the Golden Lotus Demon Flame to quench his body, unlocking the Fire Spirit Body, a special constitution. During the internal examination, he displays 3,000 qi and blood power despite being in the Qi Refining realm, shocking everyone. He is then challenged by Han Feng, an arrogant inner disciple, and easily defeats him. Unexpectedly, he chooses to apprentice under the eccentric Li Xuanzhen at Misty Peak, a seemingly dilapidated and under-resourced peak.
Yang Ming discovers that Misty Peak is far from poor. Hidden around the peak are immense treasures disguised as ordinary objects, including the Fountain of Immortality and ancient divine artifacts. He realizes his master, Li Xuanzhen, is deliberately concealing her true power and the peak's wealth. He decides to use these resources to further his cultivation and bring prosperity to Misty Peak.
Yang Ming, accompanied by Ye Chen and Liu Ruyan, embarks on a mission to rescue Han Feng from Hu Mei'er of the Acacia Sect. Yang Ming's intelligence system guides them directly to Hu Mei'er. He uses his newfound treasures, the Dragon Blade and Heavenly Shield, to defeat her and rescue Han Feng. During this encounter, his Fire Spirit Body evolves into the Sacred Body of Fire, achieving 10,000 qi and blood power, a level surpassing the revered Chaos Spirit Body.
During the Peak Competition, Yang Ming, now possessing the Sacred Fire Body, easily defeats Ye Chen. The Demon Goddess (Ruyan Liu) expresses her desire to marry the 'Son of Luck,' initially believed to be Ye Chen, but later revealed to be Yang Ming. Yang Ming refuses the marriage, asserting his independence and dedication to his master. It is hinted that Ruyan Liu is the Demon Princess, on a mission to find a 'Son of Luck' for her Demon Race.
Ye Chen, still resentful, attempts to poison Liu Ruyan with an aphrodisiac, Harmony Powder, to frame Yang Ming. Yang Ming, utilizing his Golden Lotus Demon Flame, purifies Ruyan Liu's body, inadvertently advancing her cultivation to the Dharma phase. He's then falsely accused by Ye Chen and Han Feng, leading to their punishment by the Patriarch.
Yang Ming travels to the Demon World with Ruyan Liu to find soul treasures to awaken his master. They are ambushed, and Ruyan Liu reveals her identity as the Demon Lord. They retrieve two soul treasures. Ruyan's ancestor, the Blood Demon, intending to use Yang Ming's 'Son of Luck' power to activate a Heaven Covering Formation for the Demon Race, becomes concerned when Yang Ming fails to activate it.
Despite failing to activate the Heaven Covering Formation, Yang Ming inadvertently activates it, revealing he possesses not the 'power of luck' but the 'power of the Heavenly Dao.' His master, Li Xuanzhen, reveals she is the Heavenly Emperor in reincarnation and had passed on a Heavenly Dao mark to him. This makes him the 'Son of Heaven's Way', a much higher existence than the 'Son of Luck'.
Yang Ming learns that the Demon Race, under the Blood Demon's manipulation, plans to attack the Beidou Sect. He rushes back, confronting the Blood Demon who had tricked Ruyan Liu and had infiltrated the Beidou Sect. Li Xuanzhen, his master, awakens to protect Yang Ming, revealing her full power as the Heavenly Emperor. She sacrifices herself to protect Yang Ming and disrupt the Blood Demon's plans. Yang Ming, in turn, decides to fuse with his Heavenly Dao mark, following his master into the Emperor's Realm to defy fate.
