Begin by using a grid box to reference the new position of the buoy on the chart. Then, align the tracing precisely to its exact location using the latitude and longitude guides.

Marking the New Position00:00:30

Using a 7H pencil, mark the new buoy position through the tracing onto the chart underneath. Remove the tracing to reveal the marked spot.

Drawing the New Position and Link00:00:42

With a magenta 0.18 pen, draw a small circle on the marked spot. Then, draw a neat arrow to link the buoy's existing position with its new position.

Verifying and Updating00:00:58

Lay the tracing back over the chart to verify that the new buoy position is correct. Once all updates are applied, add the Notice to Mariners (NM) update number to the chart's notices section in the bottom left corner.
