Gecko is met with a grand "SURPRISE!" from all his friends. He is thrilled by the party and especially by the amazing cake. He then asks Dr. Poppy why she needed the traffic cones, and she reveals they are the perfect party hats for his vehicle friends.
Dr. Poppy sends Gecko on a seemingly pointless search for traffic cones at the spare parts store to keep him away from the Garage. Meanwhile, Gecko's friends start preparing for his surprise birthday party, with a checklist including balloons, ice cream, music, a birthday cake, games, guests, gifts, and party hats.
The Mechanicals swiftly inflate colorful balloons. Vicky the Ice Cream Van arrives with delicious ice cream, and Amber the Ambulance provides party music through her loudspeaker.
Ingredients for a massive birthday cake are gathered by Dylan, Sid, and Trevor. Celia the cement mixer is used to combine the ingredients. The challenge of baking such a large cake is solved when Robbo discovers a "party setting" on the truck wash controller, transforming it into a giant cake baking and decorating machine. The cake is baked, expertly decorated in Gecko's green color, and topped with candles.
Ryan brings a piñata and Sophie has a giant parcel for games. All of Gecko's friends arrive as guests, bringing gifts. Gecko, still diligently searching for traffic cones, finally finds them and heads back to the Garage, unaware of the surprise awaiting him.
