If a chemical gets into your eyes, immediately notify someone, especially your teacher, to guide you to the eyewash station. Do not attempt to go alone to avoid further injury. Avoid closing or rubbing your eyes as this can cause more damage.
Once at the station, position yourself comfortably. Push the lever to activate the water flow. Place your head so that water from both tubes enters both eyes. It's crucial to keep your eyes open at all times. If you wear contact lenses, remove them at this point.
Remain at the eyewash station for a minimum of 15 minutes. Have someone stay with you and try to remain calm. Ensure your eyes stay open throughout the wash to effectively remove chemicals. After washing, if you experience any other symptoms, contact a doctor.
