How are reading and speaking time estimated?

Reading time uses 200 words per minute, and speaking time uses 130 words per minute. These are estimates; your pace and the material affect the actual time.

Can I use this tool through an API?

Yes. The public API needs no key, accepts requests from other websites and returns JSON or Markdown. Requests are limited to 60 per 60 seconds per IP across the free tools, with a 512 KB request body limit.
