Gizmo attempts to retell the parable with himself as a heroic robot. Chris and Joy quickly correct him, insisting he tell the story as Jesus told it, without embellishment. Gizmo reluctantly agrees, emphasizing his desire to be a hero.
Jesus narrates the parable: a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho is robbed, beaten, and left for dead. A priest and a Levite pass by, ignoring him. Finally, a Samaritan, typically an enemy of the Jews, stops and helps the injured man, tending to his wounds and arranging for his care at an inn.
Jesus asks the lawyer which of the three men acted as a neighbor. The lawyer acknowledges it was the Samaritan who showed mercy. Jesus then instructs him, 'Go and do likewise,' teaching Chris and Joy that compassion and love should be extended to everyone, regardless of their background or differences.
Back in their own time, Chris, Joy, and Gizmo witness Samantha and her brother, whom Joy previously judged, collecting ketchup packets. They discover Samantha and her brother are struggling and using ketchup to make soup. Joy, remembering Jesus's lesson, invites them to share their pizza, realizing that Samantha and her brother are their neighbors.
Samantha and her brother join Chris and Joy for pizza. They share about their difficult situation, with their father having passed away and their mother working. Joy, reflecting on the message of the Good Samaritan, emphasizes that they are all neighbors, fostering a new friendship and offering support.
